As far as the landlord Manfred Umfahrer is concerned, a pub
is not a pub without a goulash and a pint of beer. Cuisine is
creative and at the same time traditional at the “Bürgerbräu”.

Our staff ( there are young mothers among them) know exactly what children like! That’s why we only serve favourite food and all sorts of different juices. You’ll find this on a special children’s menu. At the “Buergerbraeu” you’ll meet tradition and modern gastronomy at the same time.

Colourful paintings by the Carinthian artist Hannes Mair brighten up all rooms and create a special flair. The “Gailtal” is famous for its “Speck” ( a special kind of bacon). At the “Buergerbraeu” you’ll find a variety of “Speck”-dishes which can also be taken away as a souvenir.

Welcome to our town next to the Italian and the Slovenian border. The “Naturarena Kärnten” ( including the Gail-Gitsch – and Lesachtal and the Weißensee) can be called a unique natural jewel.








Only 12 km from Hermagor there is the Pressegger See (For us it’s the most beautiful lake in the world!)

From Hermagor you can start biking tours to Italy and Slovenia or ride to beautiful Lesachtal (Alpine landscape of the year and Europe’s most untouched holiday valley).

Situated on the sunny side of the alps our region is always worth a visit and it really seems to be made for bike tours.
